Torel 1884 Suites & Apartments

We were really impressed with Torel 1884! Our room was so gorgeous and spacious. The common areas were beautifully decorated plus had lots of books. We enjoyed the breakfast service & wished we could linger longer every morning. I had croissants with ham & cheese & an americano every morning. Delicious! Also the breakfast waitstaff was very efficient and friendly, I appreciated that. The concierge staff is wonderful and very helpful. We had a magical stay in Porto.

Our stay at Torel 1884 GREATLY exceeded our expectations in every single way! My husband and I recently travelled with my parents, sister and brother-in-law, and my five nieces and nephews (11 people total!) from the US to Portugal for our wedding in the Douro Valley of Portugal, and had the pleasure of spending one night at Torel 1884 ahead of heading to our wedding location. As this was a destination wedding, we were traveling with an insane amount of luggage, and traveling from the US, our flight arrived in the morning, well ahead of standard check in time. Everyone at the hotel was so incredibly kind, accommodating, and supportive throughout our entire stay - from the moment we pulled up in our ridiculously large bus with a million bags to offering us coffee upon arrival, to ensuring our bags (and my prized wedding dress) were securely stored until our rooms were ready. The hotel is so centrally located that we were able to walk to the mercado for a lovely lunch and stroll around the beautiful streets of Porto until our rooms were ready. Once they were ready, we were in for such a pleasant surprise - two HUGE duplex suites located on the same floor directly next to each other (making it super easy for our family to manage the many kids) and a third junior suite with a gorgeous jacuzzi outside. As if the beautifully decorated and spacious rooms weren't enough; the hotel also left surprises for us adults (champagne and delicious chocolate/fruit platter) as well as for all of the kids in the rooms! I could go on and on about this hotel - everything from the staff (special shout-out to Irís!) to the decor to the beds to the breakfast is absolutely top notch! We are so grateful for choosing Torel 1884 as the first stop to our wedding weekend as it really set us off on an amazing path forward. We have frequented many different hotels in Porto before but none have matched Torel 1884 and it will be our go-to place when we visit Porto moving forward!

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment was really clean and had all the facilities we needed. Location is great within walking distance of all the major sites and 3 min walk to the river with loads of restaurants. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, I cannot compliment the staff enough, they were all so friendly, professionally and helpful. The breakfast is an experience in itself, not to be missed with such attention to detail and amazing customer service and delicious eggs Benedict. It was my birthday on this trip and hotel surprised me with a little birthday cake and champagne to celebrate! I would highly recommend a visit, the energy and warm atmosphere created by the staff is truly exceptional 😀

We had a memorable and enjoyable stay at Torel appartement a high-standard luxury boutique hotel. The apartments are beautifully decorated and the staff extremely professional and friendly, with excellent breakfast service. Important to know: the apartments are in a separate building uphill with no elevator, but the team kindly moved us to a ground-floor room which was a big relief for my mom after heart surgery.

We were very pleased with the people and facilities at Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments. The duplex suite was spacious and well-appointed. The service was impeccable all-around; we were particularly impressed with Jorge, Kath and Filipa at Bartolomeu Bistro. The location can't be beat, and we took advantage of the free walking tour and learned many local insights and tips from the charismatic, Francisco. We would not hesitate to return to Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments during future visits to Porto.
